Recommended browsers are:

• Firefox 2.0 or higher
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher

Notes:

1. We strongly recommend you use the Firefox browser, which may be downloaded from http://www.mozilla.com/
2. If you use Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0 it may help if you set your privacy options. To do this go to: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy.. click sites (half way down the page).
3. In the address of the website box add https://idp.londonexternal.ac.uk and click Allow on the right.

Logging in

1. On the Portal home page select the tab to access the Online Library. This will take you to your Online Library course gateway.

2. From the list of your databases on the right side of the page select HeinOnline.

3. Select the UK Federation and OpenAthens Login link.

4. You will be taken to a page headed UK Federation and OpenAthens Login. Select University of London: External System from the drop down menu and click Authenticate.

5. You will be taken to the login screen. Enter your student portal username (UID) and your password.

6. A screen saying Shibboleth Authentication Request Processed will flash past and you will be logged into the HeinOnline home page.
