Pre-Registration for Higher Education Institutional users

Welcome to our online registration facility for students and staff at Higher Education Institutions (outside of the University of London).

You can register online to become a member of Senate House Library by filling in this form.

Your registration will be completed when you visit the Library.

To complete registration, present your current University ID and PROOF OF ADDRESS in the form of a utility bill, bank or council tax statement. Membership ID requirements

Membership: Proof of Address and Identification Requirements

To register at Senate House Library, most University of London students and staff only require their college ID card or staff card.

All others will require both proof of current address and photo identification.

Acceptable forms of proof of current address include the following. Each must have your name and address:

  • Utility bill (gas, electricity, telephone or water)
  • Bank / building society statement (original documents - no online print outs or branch print-offs)
  • Credit card statement
  • Council tax bill / council rent book
  • State pension book
  • Family credit / benefit book
  • Passports
  • National identity card with address
  • Driving licence with address
  • Home insurance policy
  • Pay slips

Acceptable forms of identification:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence
  • National ID card
  • Credit cards
  • Railcard

The following will NOT be accepted as proof of identification:

  • Oyster cards
  • British Library or other library cards
  • NUS / union cards
  • Business cards
