Self-service photocopying, printing from a PC

Self-service photocopying

Self-service photocopiers are located in each of the Senate House Library sites and are operated using your Library membership card. Credit can be added to your membership card at any service point. Day visitors and users who do not have their membership card with them can borrow a temporary card from any service point. Please see Terms and Conditions in relation to use of your membership card.

Other copying devices including digital cameras, mobile telephone and scanners may not be used in the Library.

Charges

  • A4 black and white: 6p
  • A3 black and white: 12p

Double-sided copying is available. A double-sided copy costs the same as two single-sided copies

Colour copying is available through the Reprographics service

Material that is more than 100 years old, fragile or larger than A3 must not be photocopied using the self-service machines. Please instead take the item to the nearest service point and place an order through the Reprographics service.

It is your responsibility to ensure you abide by copyright law when using the self-service photocopiers. If you are making a copy for a commercial purpose, CLA stickers can be purchased from any service point. Further information on copyright is available here.

Printing from a PC

Printing from Library PCs costs 6p per black and white A4 page and 40p per colour A4 page.

When you send your document to print you will need to enter your username and password as written on your membership card. You can then release and collect your printing from any of the photocopiers in the library.

If you are printing in colour you will need to select the colour printer when you send your document to print and release your printing from the colour printer near the Circulation desk on the 4th floor (South Block).

You can add credit to your account at the self-service machine in the Catalogue Hall (4th floor, South Block) or at any service point. Terms and Conditions or use are available here.

Please note: printers are switched off 15 minutes before the Library closes (see opening hours), so please make sure you allow sufficient time to complete your printing. For further assistance please go to any service point.
