7th Floor Collection Movements Beginning Thursday 25th June

Please note that the following collections on the 7th floor are temporarily being transferred to closed access:

Subject Classmark
History of Science 3A – 3G
Health Studies 3H
Education 3J
Religious Studies 3P
History of Science 3U

These collections are being moved in order to allow space for a re-classification and re-labelling project to take place on the Latin American Studies Collection (classmark 34) that is also on the 7th floor. This is due to begin in early July.

The movement of the collections listed above will begin on Thursday 25th June and will last several days. Once the collections have been transferred to closed access they should be ordered online via the catalogue entry by clicking on the “Request” button. The item will then be fetched by staff during the next available fetching slot and should be collected from the Stack Service Desk, next to the Issue Desk on the 4th floor.

It is expected that these collections will return to open access once more during September. We apologise for any inconvenience caused while these collections are less accessible.

Books and periodicals shelved in the Stack collection have to be fetched for you by a member of staff. For books and theses, if you see the word STACK or the letter S as part of a location code, and there is a “Request” button available at the top of the catalogue record, please click on this and fill in your details. If the item is a periodical, you will need to fill in a blue card and a cream card for government publications.

Fetches take no more than an hour. Most books from the Stack may be borrowed or photocopied but please check first with a member of staff. You may be asked to consult old or fragile material under supervised conditions in the Special Collections reading room, ground floor.
