    <description>The seven day 'grace' period will no longer operate from the start of the new academic year (27th September 2010). From this date fines on overdue books will always become payable immediately. Courtesy notices will continue to be sent to warn you that books are due for return / renewal. And overdue notices will be sent when an item has become one and eight days overdue. All other aspects of the fines system will remain as they are. Should you have any further questions about Library fines please check our website or ask a member of staff.</description>
