Mrs Humphrey Ward Collection

Books and pamphlets on World War I used by the well-known novelist Mrs Humphrey Ward (1851-1920) while writing Letters to an American Friend (1916) and other war books. Her husband gave the collection after her death to General Sir Neville Gerald Lyttleton (1845-1931), whose widow subsequently gave it to ULL in 1931. Incorporated in general collections; list available in Special Collections.
