The collection covers all areas of archaeology, and is particularly strong in British Archaeology
The Rapid Reference section can be found adjacent to the History periodicals – this includes dictionaries, handbooks and guides to place names
Collection location
- Many Archaeology books are located on the 5th floor
- All Archaeology books available on open access in the History collection will display the location ARCHAEOLOGY, with the classmark prefix 63 eg ARCHAEOLOGY 5th Floor (63) LAD Loc
- Most periodicals are shelved in a separate alphabetical sequence of History and Archaeology periodicals on the 3rd floor South Block. See the: A-Z list of SHL History journals and A-Z list of SHL History eJournals
- Recent issues of periodicals are on display bays in the Periodicals Library, 5th floor. For more information on finding journals, see our journals resources page

- Some items are held in the closed access stacks. These will display the location Stack Service. Please request at the Circulation desk on the 4th floor.
