Collection overview
The Library is a major resource for those working on the Commonwealth as a whole, or on any of its member states, in the fields of history, politics and international relations, agriculture, education, the environment, and social questions.
This is a Reference Only collection and material can not be borrowed.
Collection location
• Open Access books are located on the 6th Floor, Senate House Library
• All items available on open access will display the location ICOMM South Block 6th floor
• Recent issues of a selection of periodicals are on display in the Periodicals Library, 4th Floor, Senate House Library
• Teaching Collection books and journals are housed in a separate sequence
• Large books are shelved in a separate sequence - indicated by the suffix ‘fol’ at the end of the classification
• A large number of books and most periodicals are held in the closed access stacks. These will display the location Stack Service [ICOMM]. Please request these from the Circulation Desk, 4th floor. Some books are also held in the Library's Offsite Store - these can be requested and will be available one or two working days after request.
• To locate individual titles use the online catalogue
• Special collections and archives can be consulted in the Sterling Library Reading Room, 4th Floor. Please request these in advance of use.
